HostNine

I’ve just discovered HostNine on Web Hosting Unleashed’s list of most recommended hosts.

The company is a quite new self-funded startup, launched in August 2006, but founded by experienced web hosting veterans.

I haven’t tried out their service yet, but the following features convinced me that I soon will:

• Uptime Guarantee
  Quite rare to see a Service Level Agreement (SLA) on cheap shared hosting plans. HostNine compensates their customers, if the average availability of their websites falls below 99.9%.
• Support via Instant Messenger
  Most hosts offer 24×7 support via phone and Helpdesk, but HostNine also offers support via Instant Messenger (Yahoo IM, MSN IM, AOL IM and Live Chat). How great is that?
• Choose your Website Location
  When you sign up, you choose where in the world you want your website located. Choose between USA (California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, New York, Texas, Virginia), Europe (Berkshire, UK) or Asia (Singapore).
• Free Dedicated IP
  On all plans (except the HostNine Basic plan where it is charged $1/month).
• HostNine Blog and Forum
  Great blog written by Isabel Wang of theWHIR fame and an active Community Forum.
